Today, a dizzying change is experienced in all areas of life, new problems arise and new paradigms (perspectives) are needed. The age we live in is named in various ways (space age, internet age, cyber age, age of loneliness, age of alienation, age of living in a virtual world) and with a predominant acceptance, “Information Age” refers to societies that keep up with the age by fulfilling the requirements of this age. It is called “Information Society”. The increase in human knowledge, which took a long time in the past, has been reduced to a very short time today, and it has been accepted by almost everyone that education is an important tool of being an information society.
Education is the science and art of making existence human. With education, it is aimed to transfer the value judgments of the society and the knowledge and skill accumulation to the new generations. Education is an important and costly investment that often takes a long time to pay off. Education, which is the process of changing, transforming and developing the individual and society, continues to be an area of conflict, struggle, discussion and interest that concerns individuals and all segments of society (community, sect, society, parties, non-governmental organizations, etc.). Through education, the deficient behaviors of the individual are completed and their wrong behaviors are corrected. Thus, by educating individuals well, it is aimed to create productive, strong, successful, happy and well-educated individuals and a society formed by these individuals in harmony with their values. In this respect, it would not be wrong to say that education is a field of social engineering.
